ORCID does not replace source evidence.

A matching ORCID record can corroborate scholarly identity or activity relationships. It does not automatically verify the underlying degree, credential, appointment, or publication claim.

Collect the ORCID iD directly from its record holder through OAuth.

Read public ORCID record information through the Public API.

Reconcile

Compare eligible ORCID activities against governed Evidence CV claims.

Preserve authority

Keep Parchment, CITI, institutional records, publication records, and other sources as the evidence authorities for their own claims.

This static baseline establishes the ORCID scholarly identity page and public-record relationship first. OAuth authentication, API retrieval, reconciliation, and any future write-enabled integration remain deferred to a later controlled deployment.
