Research Maps

Connecting ideas, applied labs, and a developing scholarly journey.

A connected program of inquiry

How can institutions make their claims, decisions, and learning processes traceable, accountable, and open to verification?

My research brings governance, faith, technology, and education into conversation with practical institutional problems. This map shows how those interests connect—and the questions I intend to develop through applied inquiry and peer review.

Reading this map: research directions and journal routes are prospective. Existing publications and evidence remain in their linked records. Inclusion here does not establish a completed study, validated instrument, research approval, journal endorsement, submission, or acceptance.

Explore the connections

One agenda. Five connected strands.

Evidence, accountability & human responsibilityThe connecting question across the portfolio

Each strand opens the applied settings and proposed studies that connect to it. Several labs contribute to more than one strand; placement shows the principal connection.

The potential journey

From applied experience to scholarly contribution

These are development stages, not promised dates or a claim that every project has reached the same stage.

  1. 01

    Frame the question

Connect a practical problem to a clearly bounded scholarly question.

  2. 02

    Develop the method

Define constructs, permissions, measures, comparisons, and analysis.

  3. 03

    Evaluate in context

Collect suitable evidence; examine errors, uncertainty, and alternative explanations.

  4. 04

    Submit for peer review

Match the manuscript to journal scope and revise through external review.

  5. 05

    Share and extend

Link permitted manuscripts, data, and methods; invite independent testing.

A study advances when evidence supports the next step. Conceptual papers can progress alongside empirical work. Publication, citations, and independent reuse remain outcomes to earn and document.

From practice to testable research

Research methodology

Translate applied experience into bounded research questions, explicit methods, and evidence that others can inspect and test.

Proposed methodological approach. Plans become findings only when a dated study record supports the change. A methodology section does not confer research approval or peer-review status.

Define the question and contribution

State what the study seeks to explain or evaluate, engage with established scholarship, and identify the limits of the intended contribution.

Document implementation and readiness

Distinguish inspected code, planned features, executed tests, and observed field behavior. Preserve the source revision and environment used for each evaluation.

Specify the design before evaluation

Define units of analysis, comparison conditions, sampling, reference answers, outcomes, and analysis before the main study. Separate development observations from confirmatory data.

Preserve evidence and scoped interpretation

Keep source records, machine-derived representations, reviewer statements, and final findings distinguishable. Record source version, location, attribution, scope, and limitations.

Evaluate independently and report uncertainty

Use independent scoring where appropriate. Report denominators, failures, missingness, effect sizes, uncertainty, and plausible alternative explanations.

Protect participants and support reproduction

Resolve study-specific institutional requirements and permissions. Share permitted methods, synthetic materials, analysis procedures, and documented limitations.

Accounting evidence workflow studyProtocol v0.1

Prospective protocol v0.1 — evaluation not yet completed

Research question
Does separating source records, machine derivatives, and reviewer claims improve correct evidence reconstruction compared with an indexed document workflow?
Proposed design
A staged implementation audit, synthetic technical benchmark, and subsequent comparative reviewer study. Reviewer tasks would use counterbalanced conditions and different matched evidence bundles.
Primary measure
Reconstruction accuracy: correct source, version, page, representation type, and appropriately bounded conclusion, judged against an independently prepared reference.
Analysis
Account for observations clustered within reviewers and evidence bundles. Report effect sizes and uncertainty, retain failed tasks, and distinguish exploratory analyses from prespecified comparisons.
Study readiness
Final software build, feature verification, frozen corpus, scoring rubric, justified sample size, reviewer eligibility, applicable institutional determination and permissions, and a dated analysis plan remain to be established before confirmatory execution.
Digest verification boundary
SHA-256 checks support detection of changed bytes relative to a trusted reference. A matching digest does not by itself establish authenticity, source truth, immutable storage, fraud prevention, or professional approval.
Interpretation boundary
The protocol evaluates traceability and review behavior. It does not establish accounting correctness, audit assurance, or proven organizational outcomes.

Secondary measures

  • Unsupported conclusion rate
  • Task duration and completion rate
  • Provenance completeness
  • Alteration detection and false alerts
  • Unknown-value fidelity
  • Authorization challenge outcomes
  • Review scope fidelity
